Treat a shop as a stage: no visible fixtures, no visible cabling, and a single lighting state that moves with the guest.
The client had a hard rule — nothing technical could be seen from the street. Every fixture is recessed into the joinery or hidden behind the façade louvres, which meant the lighting design had to be finished before the millwork drawings were released.

Open the store with one gesture the whole seafront notices — and leave nothing technical behind for the retail team to trip over on Monday.
Design the permanent lighting and the opening-night show as one system.
214 fixtures live inside the joinery for good; the mapping rig came down at dawn and the store opened for trade nine hours later, unchanged.

Street
Guests gathered on the pavement while the façade ran a slow, almost architectural loop.
![[story-seed] retail interior lighting](/_next/image?url=%2Fapi%2Fmedia%2Ffile%2Fstory-retail.webp&w=3840&q=85)
Threshold
On doors, a single 90-second crossfade carried the light from the street to the mezzanine.

Mezzanine
The party state and the retail state share the same fixtures — only the cue changes.

Integration drawings
Every fixture placed inside the joinery model, so the cabinetmaker cut the housings before delivery.
